Making an offer

If the seller accepts offers, you'll see Make an offer on the item page.

The rules

• Your offer must be less than the asking price.
• It must be at least half the asking price.
• Some sellers set a lowest offer they'll accept. If yours is below it, we'll ask you to try a little higher.
• You can only have one open offer on an item at a time.

What happens next

The seller has 48 hours to reply. They can:

• accept it. The item is reserved for you and you'll have 24 hours to pay at the offer price.
• decline it.
• counter with a different price, which you can then accept or decline.

If nobody replies in time, the offer expires. You can see all your offers, and withdraw one, under Offers.

Accepting an offer reserves the item, but it isn't yours until you've paid. Changed your mind? Either of you can cancel an accepted offer from Offers before it's paid for, and the item goes back on sale.
