Keep payment on Sharewear

Always pay using the Pay button on Sharewear, and never by bank transfer, PayPal, gift cards or cash in advance.

Why it matters

• Buyer protection only covers payments made on Sharewear. If you pay another way and the item never turns up, we can't get your money back.
• Sellers aren't protected either. Payments outside Sharewear can be reversed or faked.
• Asking to pay outside the site is one of the most common signs of a scam.

Watch out for

• Requests to pay by bank transfer "to avoid fees"
• Links to other websites or "payment pages" sent in messages
• Pressure to decide quickly
• Asking for your handover code before you've got the item
